Picture: Grandpa's Birthday Party
Type of picture: Multi focus point (1> scenarios)
1) Settings:
This picture depicts a scene at a birthday party. It looks like a birthday party of a grandpa. As I can see that his grandchildren is lining up to give him birthday presents. He is eighty years old as it is written on the banner. The living room is decorated with beautiful balloons. A buffet is held to celebrate. Many people were invited and they were helping themselves with the food. The grandpa was very satisfied with the party that was held for him.
Scenario 1: Normal
One of the grand children is giving a large present nicely wrapped up with wrapping paper to her grandpa. She is talking to her grandpa; I think she is sending her blessings. That is very filial of her. Her grandpa and grandma who is standing beside look very delightful.
It is important for the young these days to show their respect to the elderly. What the girl had just show is a very good example of what must young must do.
Scenario 2: Normal
The next to give the present at the queue is a little boy. He was distracted by the smell of the delicious buffet. He looked towards the buffet and was yearning to get a bit after giving the present as he looks hungry. The guest was helping themselves. The children were also there admiring the beautiful birthday cake.
Scenario 3: Wrong & consequence
Two boys also waiting to give the present standing at the end of the queue was snatching a present. I guess, maybe they are siblings and their parents only prepared one present for their grandpa, but both of them wants to give it, and so they are snatching it, hoping that they will get the present to give. Personally, I feel that they are being very childish fighting over a present. They can just give it together. That way, neither one of them will be angry or upset. If they continue fighting, they might bump into someone and that person might get hurt.
Conclusion:
I would like to attend a Birthday Party too.

Oral speech
Picture: Beach
Type of picture: Multi focus point (1> scenarios)
1)Settings:
This picture depicts a scene at the beach. It looks like a bright and sunny day. Many families were there for a picnic. They looked like they are having an enjoyable time. A blanket is placed on the sand with some beverages and food neatly arranged on it.
Scenario 1: Wrong & consequence
Two boys wearing short pants are playing a ball on the sand near to the sea. They are enjoying as there is a smile plastered across their faces. However, they are playing too near to the sea. If they hit the ball too hard, it might drop into the sea and when they want to pick it back, it will be dangerous. They should not play near to the sea and they should think about their own safety.
Scenario 2: Normal
A mother and daughter are sitting on a blanket that is used to put the beverages and food. They seem to have an enjoyable time as the little girl is enjoying the music that is played through the mother’s guitar as the mother sings. Bonding with our family is a good thing as it will let us be together. In my opinion, I think that having more gatherings is a good way of bonding.
Scenario 3: Normal
A group of 3 children is playing with the sand, building a sand castle. One of them takes the water from the sea while the others decorate and build up the sand castle. What they are doing is very safe, not playing too near to the sea.
Scenario 4: Wrong & consequence
A pair of siblings is playing at the sea. They are having a lot of fun. The younger sibling, the sister, is still young and is sitting on a float shaped like a cartoon. While the brother is chasing after her, she kicked her legs powerfully and is desperately trying to swim away. They should not play at the sea as the little girl is still young, she still do not know how to swim, if she falls into the water, she might drown.
Conclusion:
I would also like to spend my weekend at the beach with my family.

Reflection on the trip to Sungei Boloh Wet Land Reserve
The purpose of this trip is to let us see the action taking place in nature where we learnt about Environment in our textbook... Enough of pictures and texts! Time to see what really happen in nature without man's interference...
The trip was long... really long... The 6As and 6BS took the 1st place to go to Sungei Boloh! We were so excited on the bus and can hardly wait to get off! Everyone was so ready when someone in front shouted "We're reaching! We're reaching!" Immediately, everyone 'pluck' out their ear piece and got ready.
We applied mosquito repellents and so on. It was lucky as for me i bought a sun block with me as i predicted that it was going to be a very sunny day.
We got off the bus and a stench greeted us. Some of the people just say "eeee...." on so on. But i think that that's the smell of nature... We were told to walk a loooong path way before reaching the entrance of the wet land reserve. As we walk towards the information counter, everyone was excited as they could be. We divided into 2 groups per class: A3 and A4. I was in the A3 group with the girls. Before we enter, we get to meet our guide, Mrs Goh, she looks friendly and gentle.
We stepped and jumped and stepped on it. It looks so fun that no one can resist playing! It was a carpet. It might look like a normal carpet made with sponge but it is actually a thing to kill the bacteria under our shoes so that we won't bring diseases to the animals.
The A3 group crossed the BIG BAMBOO BRIDGE and settled down on one of the benches. Mes Goh told us IMPORTANT information about the the Sungei Boloh first. She told us about the size of the whole Sungei Boloh, it was really huge! I can't remember it is about how many soccer fields! We were so fascinated about the information about Sungei Boloh and that somehow leaded us to some other topics as some of the people asked questions not related to science.
She told us that they were 2 crocodiles in the sea. We were so hoping to see one as many of the people kept a look out for it. But however, we were not lucky enough, every time we THOUGHT we spotted one, it was just a log flooding or a rubbish. And that disappointed us. But we almost! See one. It jumped up to catch it's prey and went back into the water again with a big splash! We only the 'splash' scene and didn't manage to catch a glance of the crocodile who we are hoping to see.
However we manage to see many other things that people seldom can see. Like the: Malayan water monitor, lobster mount, sea HOLLY, plantain squirrel, horse shoe crab, giant mud skipper, archer fish, dog-face water snake, collared king fisher flying, little egret, Monkey, and so on...
We saw many things happening in nature where it can't be found in our textbook. How the animals fight for their lives. The 1st thing that fascinate me: The Monkey. We saw a monkey when we were walking to a 'resting hut'. I was walking in front as i was tired of walking and was exhausted. Wanting to be the 1st to get a rest. When i saw the monkey at the roof, o can't believe my eyes! I was all energetic again! I ran to Mrs Goh and try to whisper in my loudest voice. But i was to excited to do so. My 'loud whispered' turned in to a scream! Though we were not allowed to. :)
The monkey jumped down! Me and the rest of the people was all horrified. We were all afraid that the monkey might attack us. We all stood aside as the monkey jump on the top of the hand rills. Everyone started taking out their hand phones to take pictures and videos. However, there are alot of screaming...
Jia Xing took the lead, he stepped in front and make a funny face to the monkey. The monkey almost attacked us and we all SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!! And moved back wards. Luckily, the monkey was scared by us and it ran away.
What a scary moment! But it was exciting though. Mrs Goh than told us that the monkey would have climbed up to Jia Xing's head! And we all giggled. Everyone was very upset with him that he scare the monkey away... :(
The 2nd thing that fascinate me was: The attack between the Dog-face snake and the Horseshoe crab. We were on our way to see the Mangroves when we walk pass a 'pond'. We actually spotted a Horseshoe crab and a Dog-face snake! They were attacking each other! At 1st i might look like the Horseshoe crab is the prey of the Horseshoe crab snake, the dog-face snake slight around and wanted to attack the Horseshoe crab. But, later it found out that the Horseshoe crab was to big for it. Therefore, they started a fight. It was just so exciting that we can't get our eyes of the fight! People started cheering, Jovelle who was beside me started cheering: "Go Horseshoe Crab! I support you!" And that was really funny cheering for a animal.
The 3rd thing that fascinate me was: The archer fish. It was told by Mrs Goh that if we see a archer fish and we cast a shadow, it will swim away. Reason is because that the Archer Fish think that it's its predator coming, therefore it will swim away.
There are many fascinating things around us, it only matters if we want to go and find out...

Super kids motivational camp
On this 3 days, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we didn't have to be in class having lesson. That's because, we have the P6 motivational camp with the trainers from the Adam Khoo Learning Technologies. For the 6A and 6B badge we have Candice, YY, Faiz, Sean and Dean.
Day 1
The 1st trainer who conducted the camp was Candice! She share alot about her life experiences and alot of true stories. Although it's very touching, but she will always lighten up the atmosphere by telling us alot of jokes. I enjoy the whole session throughout.
When she 1st step in, we took more than 3mins to setter down and keep our eyes on the speaker. And this was what she said:"Today you took more than 3 mins to setter down. CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES. 3 x 5, 15 up downs!" We all stand up. Having no idea what is up downs Rusydan demonstrated. "Count together, Do together, if not start from 0." Candice told us.
She leaded us throughout. From there i learnt that one person's action will lead the whole group to suffer and team work. 1st question Candice raised is: Where i want to be? There was a moment of silence... Everyone was pondering over this question. Than Candice drew a chart, that writes all the positions it the society. From the highest: CEO to the lowest Blue colour workers. She wanted us to choice where we want to be in the society next time, and then indicate it: i choose here.
Next, she told us about 2 animals that are very different. The Eagle and the Sheep. The Eagle's like a leader while the sheep is like a follower. 1st she said a story about the sheep: The farmer bought all the sheeps to a place where there is a machine to chop the head off the sheep and sell. The 1st sheep came and said: "the shiny thing on top so nice, i want to take a look." When the sheep went near the machine, down when the knife, roll went the head of the sheep and flow went the blood. The 2nd sheep went and saw the same thing said:"hmm... where is my friend? Just now he has head now no more head? Wao! The shiny thing got so much red thing! Never mind lah, my friend go i also go..." boom! And it's head was also chopped off. And that happened on and on for the rest of the sheep. That's why sheep are followers. They follow blindly, don't think for their own life, blame others, complain and give excuses.
The eagle are always the leader as they know what they want in life and take 100%responsibility. So we should be like the eagles. But know i'm somehow like the sheep:)
Than she tell us that studying is a waste of time IF you don't know why we study forand we see ourselve as an average person or a nobody. Studying is NOT a waste of time if we know why we study and see ourselve as someone successful and somebody.
Later she tell us about the 3 success rules:
#1 Do it FAST
Do it RIGHT
Do it NOW!
#2 Success =/ what you have
Success = who you become
#3 Success = moving towards your goal
everyday
NO failure, only learning experience.
Next, at the 2nd half of the day, YY came in. It also took us sometime to setter down. Looks like simo people haven't learnt their lesson yet.
He talk about investment -> make money $
spending -> no $ -> lose $
Than he taught us about how the brain works, about the newrones and the connection and potential.
Next, he said about the Ultimate Success Formula, he drew out the Formula that Belief and Self-esteem helps to achieve the goals and we need the strategy to do so and than take action, there is no failure only learning experience. But if it doesn't work than we will have to change the strategy until we succeed.
Day 2
This time, YY came in 1st. He showed us about (VAK) Visual
Auditory
Kinestetic
Next,he showed us on the slide a big chank of texe about the brainand picked up 7 key words into a picture diagram so that it's easier to remember.
Next was the POW which is the Power Of Words...
The class gave him a list of negative and positive words, and he wrote them all down on the board.
I won't want to list the negative words down but for the positive words is:DO YOUR BEST! Well, i totally agree with this though i didn't.
Now was the key ideas tree, 1st, YY gave us an example which started with what Cndice and YY taught us so far and write it out in the key ideas tree. Here are the rules...
1)Centre topic
-2 50cents coin(size)
-Landscape
-Center
2)Sub-heading
-1 word 1 line
-CAPITAL letter
-'branches' must be from thick to thin.
3)Details
-1 word 1 line
-Keywords
4)Picture
5)Next Sub-heading
Than we learnt 8 Principles of memory:
Visualisation,association,outstanding,rhythm,colour,humour,overview,5 senses.
Once again half of the day is spent with YY, which is also time for Candice!
She came in and we tried our very best to keep the class quiet... Than Candice begin to speak: 2mins 30 sec., good, an improvement!" ha! What a relieve was what we were thinking...
Candice taught us this when she came in: E + R = O
E->Event
(10%)R->Response
(90%)O->Outcome
Next, we learnt this: Identity = Who am i?
- who i see myself
- what i want
- what i do
- what i get
She went through this activity called "Who am i?" Where we are supposed to write down our true self.
And this activity "Dare to dream"
-If i really dare to dream,...
-If there were no such things as failure
-If i could have anything i want,...
Is this what you want?
And " What is stopping me?" where we are supposed to write down what is stopping us to achieve our goal?
Than we played the identity game, Candice told us to imagine that we are monkeys than write down what will we do. Than World's most evil criminal and the Responsible king/ Queen/ Leader.
At last when the day was comilg to an end, Candice took us on a imagination trip, she offed all the lights and asked everyone to close our eyes and listen to what she said. I can remember that she said that we imagine that we were going through a narrow path, as we walked, we can see alot of pictures hanging on the walls, from the time when we were just born until now...
Through the whole journey, many cried, including me myself. It's just soo... touching.......
Day 3 (Final Day)
Once again YY came in 1st. We took longer than usual to setter down. YY doesn't seem happy, he said: yesterday when i leave thus place, i saw alot of rubbosh on the floor! And who do you think is the one who arrange this chairs for you? The teachers! Do you even think you are fit to sit here?!"
Our attention at once moved to Miss Chia and Mdm Siti who is sitting behind. Than it moved back to YY again. " Stand up, stack your chairs back." We all stand up and begin passing to the left. However, at my row, Wee Yee, Kai Lin and Hui Chainn decided to pass it to the other side. So for our row, it's quite unorganised...
Then he started to speak again: "1 minutes for you to think of a better way to bring the chairs down." Me and Jovelle went to tell the rest of the people in our row about the plan of passing the chairs to the left side. They agreed while Jia Xuan went and told the rest of the rows, however the boys refused to listen and was very messy.
"2 mins bring down your chairs!" We were shouting "Amar! Amar! Hurry! Hurry!" As she was the front if our group. Finally Done but soon YY repeated it over and over again. Finally when we can do it well-organised, YY allowed us to sit.
He then teach us about the Techniques of focused reading:
1)Pencil pacing
2)Fast music
3)knowledge
4)Read Question 1st
Nexr was the 10 steps succeed PSLE:
Goals->Strategy->Time management->Gather info.->Speed reading->Make notes->Memorise->Apply->Thinking skills->Exams
Then it was Candice turn, She started with :How you do anything = How you do everything
How you play in games = How you play in class = How you play in life
Succeed in PSLE = Succeed in life->Do->Habit->Character->Destiny
This was all very true indeed.
Though the whole programm was quite sad sometimes but overall i enjoy it very much!

thoughts for the day
So sorry for not blogging for such a long.....time. i truly apologise.
This morning when a was in the hall, Mr Li, my mother tongue teacher talk to me. He ask me what am i doing this coming weekend. i thought this question was weird, why did he ask me that? however i answered that i am going to Malaysia. oh... he replied. than he continued.
"how is your sister?"(he teaches my sister Chinese last year) than i said fine. i don't know why on earth did he ask me those question?
Than he go on. "jia yi, you have the potential to do well in your Chinese. so do work hard. i don't know what happened to you, you don't score as well as last year for your spelling." than he left.
but not long after he ask me to take out my compo correction followed by some other students. he wanted us to write the ending of the compo better.
all i want to say is that Mr Li is a very weird teacher, but he still can teach well. hope you don,t mind if you see this Mr Li:)
