Super kids motivational camp

On this 3 days, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we didn't have to be in class having lesson. That's because, we have the P6 motivational camp with the trainers from the Adam Khoo Learning Technologies. For the 6A and 6B badge we have Candice, YY, Faiz, Sean and Dean.

Day 1

The 1st trainer who conducted the camp was Candice! She share alot about her life experiences and alot of true stories. Although it's very touching, but she will always lighten up the atmosphere by telling us alot of jokes. I enjoy the whole session throughout.

When she 1st step in, we took more than 3mins to setter down and keep our eyes on the speaker. And this was what she said:"Today you took more than 3 mins to setter down. CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES. 3 x 5, 15 up downs!" We all stand up. Having no idea what is up downs Rusydan demonstrated. "Count together, Do together, if not start from 0." Candice told us.

She leaded us throughout. From there i learnt that one person's action will lead the whole group to suffer and team work. 1st question Candice raised is: Where i want to be? There was a moment of silence... Everyone was pondering over this question. Than Candice drew a chart, that writes all the positions it the society. From the highest: CEO to the lowest Blue colour workers. She wanted us to choice where we want to be in the society next time, and then indicate it: i choose here.

Next, she told us about 2 animals that are very different. The Eagle and the Sheep. The Eagle's like a leader while the sheep is like a follower. 1st she said a story about the sheep: The farmer bought all the sheeps to a place where there is a machine to chop the head off the sheep and sell. The 1st sheep came and said: "the shiny thing on top so nice, i want to take a look." When the sheep went near the machine, down when the knife, roll went the head of the sheep and flow went the blood. The 2nd sheep went and saw the same thing said:"hmm... where is my friend? Just now he has head now no more head? Wao! The shiny thing got so much red thing! Never mind lah, my friend go i also go..." boom! And it's head was also chopped off. And that happened on and on for the rest of the sheep. That's why sheep are followers. They follow blindly, don't think for their own life, blame others, complain and give excuses.

The eagle are always the leader as they know what they want in life and take 100%responsibility. So we should be like the eagles. But know i'm somehow like the sheep:)

Than she tell us that studying is a waste of time IF you don't know why we study forand we see ourselve as an average person or a nobody. Studying is NOT a waste of time if we know why we study and see ourselve as someone successful and somebody.

Later she tell us about the 3 success rules:
#1 Do it FAST
Do it RIGHT
Do it NOW!

#2 Success =/ what you have
Success = who you become

#3 Success = moving towards your goal
everyday

NO failure, only learning experience.

Next, at the 2nd half of the day, YY came in. It also took us sometime to setter down. Looks like simo people haven't learnt their lesson yet.

He talk about investment -> make money $
spending -> no $ -> lose $

Than he taught us about how the brain works, about the newrones and the connection and potential.

Next, he said about the Ultimate Success Formula, he drew out the Formula that Belief and Self-esteem helps to achieve the goals and we need the strategy to do so and than take action, there is no failure only learning experience. But if it doesn't work than we will have to change the strategy until we succeed.

Day 2
This time, YY came in 1st. He showed us about (VAK) Visual
Auditory
Kinestetic

Next,he showed us on the slide a big chank of texe about the brainand picked up 7 key words into a picture diagram so that it's easier to remember.

Next was the POW which is the Power Of Words...
The class gave him a list of negative and positive words, and he wrote them all down on the board.
I won't want to list the negative words down but for the positive words is:DO YOUR BEST! Well, i totally agree with this though i didn't.

Now was the key ideas tree, 1st, YY gave us an example which started with what Cndice and YY taught us so far and write it out in the key ideas tree. Here are the rules...

Than we learnt 8 Principles of memory:
Visualisation,association,outstanding,rhythm,colour,humour,overview,5 senses.


Once again half of the day is spent with YY, which is also time for Candice!
She came in and we tried our very best to keep the class quiet... Than Candice begin to speak: 2mins 30 sec., good, an improvement!" ha! What a relieve was what we were thinking...

Candice taught us this when she came in: E + R = O

Next, we learnt this: Identity = Who am i?
- who i see myself

- what i want

- what i do

- what i get

She went through this activity called "Who am i?" Where we are supposed to write down our true self.

And this activity "Dare to dream"
-If i really dare to dream,...
-If there were no such things as failure
-If i could have anything i want,...
Is this what you want?

And " What is stopping me?" where we are supposed to write down what is stopping us to achieve our goal?

Than we played the identity game, Candice told us to imagine that we are monkeys than write down what will we do. Than World's most evil criminal and the Responsible king/ Queen/ Leader.

At last when the day was comilg to an end, Candice took us on a imagination trip, she offed all the lights and asked everyone to close our eyes and listen to what she said. I can remember that she said that we imagine that we were going through a narrow path, as we walked, we can see alot of pictures hanging on the walls, from the time when we were just born until now...

Through the whole journey, many cried, including me myself. It's just soo... touching.......

Day 3 (Final Day)

Once again YY came in 1st. We took longer than usual to setter down. YY doesn't seem happy, he said: yesterday when i leave thus place, i saw alot of rubbosh on the floor! And who do you think is the one who arrange this chairs for you? The teachers! Do you even think you are fit to sit here?!"

Our attention at once moved to Miss Chia and Mdm Siti who is sitting behind. Than it moved back to YY again. " Stand up, stack your chairs back." We all stand up and begin passing to the left. However, at my row, Wee Yee, Kai Lin and Hui Chainn decided to pass it to the other side. So for our row, it's quite unorganised...

Then he started to speak again: "1 minutes for you to think of a better way to bring the chairs down." Me and Jovelle went to tell the rest of the people in our row about the plan of passing the chairs to the left side. They agreed while Jia Xuan went and told the rest of the rows, however the boys refused to listen and was very messy.

"2 mins bring down your chairs!" We were shouting "Amar! Amar! Hurry! Hurry!" As she was the front if our group. Finally Done but soon YY repeated it over and over again. Finally when we can do it well-organised, YY allowed us to sit.

He then teach us about the Techniques of focused reading:

4)Read Question 1st

Nexr was the 10 steps succeed PSLE:
Goals->Strategy->Time management->Gather info.->Speed reading->Make notes->Memorise->Apply->Thinking skills->Exams

Then it was Candice turn, She started with :How you do anything = How you do everything

How you play in games = How you play in class = How you play in life

Succeed in PSLE = Succeed in life->Do->Habit->Character->Destiny
This was all very true indeed.

Though the whole programm was quite sad sometimes but overall i enjoy it very much!
